Packaging & Shipping

Each year around 8 million tonnes of plastic is dumped into the sea. In the worst cases these plastics can take around 400 years to break down. When setting up the Company, I knew I had a responsibility to avoid using single use plastics.

Instead, I decided to replace plastic garment bags with organic cotton, re-usable drawstring bags. For our outer shipping bags we have opted for FSC certified paper bags as an alternative to plastic shipping bags.

Our garment bags are printed in a certified organic printing facility which means they remain organic even after printing. To meet the GOTS organic criteria all inks are water based and non-toxic. All waste water leaving the factory is filtered to ensure that no chemicals are released into the water system.

The bags are made from Fairtrade Certified Cotton and carry the Fairtrade Cotton Mark. For a cotton tote bag to carry the Fairtrade certification mark, the cotton farmers must meet Fairtrade Standards. From the growing and processing of the cotton to the manufacturing of the bag, all areas have to be compliant to meet the Fairtrade Standard.

The bags can be re-used as handy storage bags and after their lifespan they are completely biodegrade and as they are made from Organic cotton, no chemicals or toxins seep back into the land.

We use high quality paper bags made from strong, natural brown craft paper as an alternative to plastic shipping bags. These bags have integrated double peel and seal strips, meaning no additional tape is required should you need to make a return.

They are produced by an FSC certified company who only source paper from sustainable forests who have the highest standards of forest management. They are printed with water based inks and are degradable and compostable. They are also printed right here in the UK!
